About Us

DTVFC proudly serves and protects the 55 square miles of Dingmans Ferry, with 4,000+ property owners and a population of 5,000+ residents. Just over the Delaware River from New Jersey, Dingmans Ferry is a continuously growing area. It's appeal is contributed to the fact that it is surrounded by National Park Service land.

The original fire house, which is presently owned by National Park Service, was the stone building at the intersection of Rt. 209 and Wilson Hill Road. The building was built by the members of the Company in 1956/1957. Once completed, the fire house not only housed the equipment of the Company, but became the center of many Dingmans Village activities. Unfortunately, as a result of the Tocks Island Dam Project in the 1970's, the residents of the Village were forced to move deeper into Dingmans Ferry. The Fire Company was no exception and therefore it was shut down.

In the late 1970's, the Company built a substation to house their ever growing equipment. After the National Park Service took over the firehouse on 209, this became the only building owned by the Company. Once again leaving the members of the Company without a "home". As the needs of the Township grew, the Company also used the Township Building to house some of its equipment, hold meetings, and have training. Our Substation is located on Milford Road. A quarter of a mile south of Rt. 739. It houses both our engines.

1993 marked the completion of the Company's new "home". DTVFC now had a place of its own to hold meetings, have training, and hold fund raisers. Our Main House is located on Wilson Hill Road, across the road from the ball fields and can be accessed from either Milford Road or Rt. 209. The Main house holds our Tanker, Rescue, ATV, and Brush Truck
